Schalits to turn to court if gov't does not pressure PA

Noam and Aviva Schalit on Wednesday sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz threatening to send a petition to the Hight Court if the cabinet does not immediately declare steps to put pressure on the Palestinian Authority, which is not the governmental authority responsible for the fate of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.
"We demand that in light of the new situation [Hamas-Fatah unity deal], the transfer of tax revenue to the Palestinian Authority be delayed until the release of Gilad, whose fate is now in the hands of the PA," the Schalits write in the letter.
Israel's refraining from implementing economic and other measures against PA institutions is "extremely unreasonable" and warrant the intervention of the High Court, the letter says.
