Illegal outposts in Area C demolished after being rebuilt multiple times

Over ten people were reportedly arrested during the demolition

Demolition of illegal outposts in Area C, June 15, 2020
Border Police and Civil Administration forces began demolishing six illegally built structures in the Givat HaBaladim outpost and six other illegal structures in the Maoz Esther outpost on Monday morning, Israeli media reported.
Over ten people were arrested during the demolition, according to the right-wing legal aid Honenu organization.
Five family homes, two synagogues and eight additional structures were destroyed by security forces. One of the residents tied himself to his home and security forces are working to remove him from the scene, according to Israeli media.
Both outposts are located near the settlement of Kochav Hashahar in Area C in the Binyamin Regional Council.
This is not the first time that structures have been demolished in the Maoz Esther area. In April of last year, Border Police destroyed four houses in the area. That was at least the 15th time that structures in the area had been demolished by security forces, according to Srugim.
The demolition comes amid rising tensions surrounding promises by the Israeli government to annex parts of the West Bank in July, although the details of such a plan remain unclear.
