Serbia's Democrats, Socialists agree new alliance

BELGRADE - Serbia's pro-Western Democratic Party and the Socialists of late strongman Slobodan Milosevic agreed on Wednesday to revive their governing coalition after inconclusive elections, locking out the opposition right.
In a statement, the second-placed Democratic Party (DS) said the Socialists, who came third in Sunday's poll, would support DS leader Boris Tadic for a new term as Serbian president in a May 20 run-off election against opposition Serbian Progressive leader Tomislav Nikolic.
