Settlers preparing for next battle

Settlers are renewing their drive to sign up activists who can be mobilized at a moment’s notice, through SMS notifications, to thwart housing demolitions in settlements or outposts.

The Samaria Citizens’ Committee, which put out a call for activists Wednesday, said they became concerned after the Civil Administration posted demotion notices in the Itamar settlement in Samaria and in a number of adjacent outposts.

The committee warned settlers not to become complacent just because the United States had decided that negotiations were not possible at this time. “We have to remember that this is just a short break with respect to American efforts to establish a Palestinian state and that the pressure to do so will only increase. Therefore it is important to be vigilant and to work collaboratively,” the committee said.
