Sheetrit: Mofaz is only serious alternative to Netanyahu

MK Meir Sheetrit (Kadima) said Tuesday that, “Only [MK] Shaul Mofaz presents a serious alternative [to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu] and can win the public's support to head the government.” Sheetrit statement supporting Mofaz came only hours before polls opened in the race for the Kadima party leader, in which he is challenging current head Tzipi Livni.

Mofaz "has proven experience” and “will wake up the party,” Sheetrit told Army Radio.

The Kadima MK noted that Mofaz had served as IDF chief of General Staff and defense minister and can make decisions in difficult and uncertain situations. If elected, Mofaz would reach a final agreement with the Palestinians, according to Sheetrit.
