Silwan resident forced to leave J'lem for four months

A Silwan resident who was served with a restraining order by the Home Front Command will have to leave the city for four months starting on January 12, the Post learned on Wednesday.
Thirty-five-year-old Adnan Geith, an activist in Silwan who has been arrested seven times in the past two months, had originally tried to challenge the restraining order in the High Courts.
He withdrew his petition on Wednesday, meaning that he has 14 days before the restraining order goes into effect. The restraining order is unique in that it was served by the Home Front Command, which usually only serves restraining orders in the West Bank.
Police generally serve restraining orders in east Jerusalem. Home Front Command has the right to serve Israeli residents with restraining orders due to the State of Emergency law enacted by the British Mandate in 1945.
