South Korean Embassy tells Koreans to leave Egypt

SEOUL, South Korea  — The South Korean Embassy in Egypt told South Koreans to leave the country because of the ongoing protests against President Hosni Mubarak's government.
An embassy official said by phone that embassy officials began calling South Koreans in Egypt on Sunday to advise them to return home or move to another country.
The official said about 1,000 South Koreans live in Egypt but didn't know how many have already left. The official spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the sensitivity of the issue.
The Foreign Ministry in Seoul also has asked South Koreans to not travel to Egypt.
