Stabbing suspect’s remand extended

The Beersheba Magistrate’s Court extended the custody of a 16-year-old boy suspected of stabbing 14-year-old Yisrael Elazar to death, by six days on Sunday. Police say the stabbing followed a fight “over a cigarette.”

However, the suspect’s attorney said police had used foul play to make his client admit to the killing.

The suspect’s friend, who allegedly incriminated him, was also brought to the court by police.
