State appeals to High Court to delay Migron evacuation

The state on Wednesday appealed to the High Court of Justice to nullify its order to evacuate the West Bank outpost of Migron by the end of the month.
The state asked the court for an extension to allow all 50 Migron families time to build permanent homes on 70 dunams of state land two kilometers away by November 30, 2015.
Right-wing politicians and settlers leaders hailed the request as a worthy compromise that respected the rule of law.
Left-wing activists and politicians attacked it for subverting the rule of law and breaking Israel’s pledge to the international community not to expand the borders of existing settlements.
