Steinitz comes out swinging against Barak

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz lambasted Defense Minister Ehud Barak in a Monday interview with Army Radio, saying his economic ideas were "nonsense."
"I'm happy that the Prime Minister is Binyamin Netanyahu and not the Defense Minister, because if the Defense Minister were in charge of the economy, we would collapse faster than Spain and Greece," Steinitz said in response to Barak's blustering critique of economic policy to Army Radio on Sunday.
Barak, who has been trying to protect the defense budget from proposed cuts, argued that the state should substantially increase the budget deficit.
"It seems he didn't understand what he read in the newspaper," Steinitz said.
