Steinitz, Gurria agree to hold OECD conference in Jerusalem

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and the secretary general of the Organization of Economic Cooperation (OECD), Angel Gurria, agreed to carry on with an OECD conference set to be held in Jerusalem after the organization previously threatened to cancel it.
The OECD warned earlier that it would cancel the conference in response to statements made by Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov implying that the OECD's decision to hold the conference in Jerusalem means it recognizes the city as the capital of Israel.
Steinitz reportedly asked for the conference to remain in Jerusalem and promised that Israel would not make any politicized statements about it.
