Suicide bomber kills 2 police officers in Russian province

A suicide bomber killed two police officers and wounded at least seven other people in Russia's southern region of Dagestan on Thursday.
Vyacheslav Gasanov, a spokesman with Dagestan's Interior Ministry branch, told The Associated Press that the attack involved a suicide bomber detonating explosives in a car after stopping at a traffic police checkpoint.
Dagestan was named by federal investigators as the source of the suicide bombings that tore through the Moscow subway in March, killing 40 people and wounding dozens. Dagestan neighbors Chechnya, the site of two bloody wars in the last 15 years.
