Suspected Kurdish rebels blow up Iranian-Turkish pipeline

ANKARA, Turkey — A Turkish official reported Wednesday that suspected Kurdish rebels blew up part of an Iranian-Turkish natural gas pipeline in eastern Turkey.
There were no casualties, but Agri province governor Ali Yerlikaya said the explosion caused a fire and shut down the flow of gas.
It is unclear when the gas flow will resume along the 1,598-mile (2,572-kilometer) pipeline.
Rebels of the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, have sabotaged the same pipeline in the past.
