Syrian security forces tear gas protesters

BEIRUT - Syrian security forces fired tear gas on Friday to disperse hundreds of protesters calling for more freedoms in the center of the capital Damascus, a witness said.
"We are in Midan and they are firing tear gas on us, people are chanting," the witness said.
In the restive city of Hama, tens of thousands of people took to the streets after Friday prayers calling for the departure of President Bashar Assad, who is facing a four month revolt against his 11-year rule.
