Trajtenberg: Social protest lit red light within public

Professor Manuel Trajtenberg, who headed the committee for socio-economic change, said Thursday that the social protest had lit a red light in the "public's willingness to bear the burden."
Speaking at a conference at the Institute for National Security Studies, Trajtenberg expressed fear that ignoring the social problems will harm Israel's national strength.
"We need a state that is more economically and socially just. Where the public can feel that the fate of the state is important to them, that they want to have an impact on it, not that it will be decided without them," he said.
