Tunisian president's departure called permanent

TUNIS, Tunisia— The head of Tunisia's  Constitutional Council announced Saturday that the departure of the country's president is permanent and the leader of the lower house of parliament is temporarily assuming power in the North African country.
Constitutional Council President Fethi Abdennadher said that longtime autocratic President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who fled to Saudi Arabia, has left power for good. The country's new leader, Fouad Mebazzaa, has up to 60 days to organize elections.
