Turkey FM pushes to end Iraq's political deadlock

BAGHDAD  — Turkey's foreign minister visited Iraq on Sunday to push the country's political leaders to overcome the political deadlock that has gripped the country for the past eight months.
Ahmet Davutoglu told reporters that he's in Iraq to consult with the country's major political players on how to break the impasse over who should lead the country after the March 7 parliamentary vote produced no clear winner.
Davutoglu met with Kurdish leaders in the northern city of Irbil Sunday and was later headed to Baghdad.
