Turkey removes Iran from list of national security threats

Turkey's National Security Council removed Iran from a list of nations it considers specific threats to its national security, Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported on Monday, according to AFP.
The updated list, which replaces a previous edition published five years ago, was expected to be officially adopted by the Turkish government in October.
The list made mention of Iran's nuclear program, stating that Turkey prefers a nuclear-free Middle East.
The council responsible for composing the list is made up of Turkish government and military leaders.
