Two French journalists freed in Afghanistan

PARIS - Two French journalists held hostage in Afghanistan for a year and a half have been freed, President Nicolas Sarkozy's office said on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Francois Fillon told parliament moments later that Herve Ghesquiere and Stephane Taponier, who were taken hostage along with their Afghan guides in Dec. 2009, were in good health and would be back in France in a matter of hours.
Sarkozy's office said interpreter Reza Din had also been released.
