UAE officials meet Iran FM in attempt to quell tension

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi was in the United Arab Emirates Sunday to meet with senior UAE officials as tensions rose between the two nations.
Tehran, which is Shiite, has issued statements criticizing the efforts of Sunni Gulf nations in quelling pro-democracy protests, a move the UAE has called political meddling.
Last week, Salehi was in Qatar and Oman for similar talks. A meeting of Arab leaders in the Gulf is scheduled for Tuesday in Saudi Arabia.
