UK's Hague: No point Russia siding with Assad

PARIS - British Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Wednesday that Russia needed to understand that siding with Syrian President Bashar Assad was futile as the West tries to bring the conflict in Syria to an end.
"Russia must understand that the situation in Syria is leading to collapse," Hague told a news conference after meeting his French counterpart Laurent Fabius. "There is no point anybody standing by the Assad regime."
