UNSC discusses Syria; Arab leaders demand action

The United Nations Security Council began a discussion on the Arab League plan on Syria Tuesday evening. Qatari Prime Minister Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jaber al Thani told the council that Syria's "killing machine is still at work."
Al Thani went on to urge the UNSC to assume its responsibility on the Syrian crisis, asking it to support the Arab League plan that calls on Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down.
Also speaking at the special UNSC session was Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elarabi, who urged Security Council members to take "rapid and decisive action" on Syria.
