US, Jordan seek resumption of Mideast peace talks

WASHINGTON — The United States and Jordan on Wednesday said they remain hopeful for a quick resumption of Mideast peace negotiations.
The talks are a failing effort made even more difficult by this week's release of papers alleging wide-ranging Palestinian concessions to Israel.
After a meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Wednesday the parties should return to talks in the "next few weeks."
Clinton said she will meet with key mediators from Europe, Russia and the United Nations next month to discuss the next step.
