US warns Lebanon on militants in government

The Obama administration is warning Lebanon's political leaders that continuing US support for the country will be difficult if the militant Hizbullah movement takes a dominant role in government.
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Monday that the bigger the role Hizbullah has in government, the "more problematic" US-Lebanese relations will be. The US regards Hezbollah as a foreign terrorist organization. Crowley's comments came as Iranian-backed Hizbullah  moved into position to control the next Lebanese government as it secured enough support in parliament to nominate the candidate for prime minister.
He declined to say what the United States would do if Hizbullah 's candidate becomes prime minister and is able to form a government but said it would be "difficult" to carry on business as usual if that happens.
