Vilnai: Israel must deploy Iron Dome in Dimona area

Home Front Defense Minister Matan Vilnai stressed on Tuesday the need to permanently deploy an Iron Dome anti-missile defense system in the Dimona area.

"The enemy can't reach Dimona, but rockets can hit sensitive targets in the area," he explained.

Speaking with students in the southern city, the minister addressed the resumption of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority set to begin on Tuesday. The mere fact that negotiations are to take place is already good news, Vilnai said, expressing optimism about Jordanian mediation.
