Welfare Minister Kahlon supports anti-prostitution law

Welfare and Social Services Minister Moshe Kahlon on Wednesday expressed support for the proposed "Prostitution Law" to combat prostitution, Army Radio reported.
The proposed law dictates that those convicted of soliciting prostitution will receive prison sentences of up to six months. "This phenomena [of prostitution] is horrendous. No one does this willingly. This legislation is an unusual opportunity [to address the problem]," said Kahlon, as part of hearings before the Knesset Subcommittee on Trafficking in Women.
The proposed law previously passed a preliminary reading before the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.
