LONDON - Libya faces a humanitariancrisis due to heavy fighting and food supplies are not being
adequately replenished, UN agency the World Food Program(WFP) said on Wednesday.UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said earlier up to 3.6million people in Libya may need humanitarian assistance asrebels press their fight against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
"Libya faces a humanitarian crisis following anunprecedented level of upheaval and violence," the WFP said in astatement.
"The future of the public subsidized food distributionsystem in Libya is very worrying to WFP and food securitypartners."
