White House: NATO should play a key role in Libya

NATO should have a key role in enforcing a no-fly zone over Libya, the White House said on Tuesday after US President Barack Obama consulted his French and British counterparts on the issue.
Ben Rhodes, a senior White House national security aide, told reporters on Obama's plane that the president spoke by telephone with both French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron.
"What we are saying right now is that NATO will have a key role to play here," Rhodes said.
