Witnesses: Shooting heard in Malian capital

BAMAKO - Members of Mali's presidential guard unit, thought to be loyal to the country's ousted president, fired their weapons in parts of the capital Bamako on Monday evening, witnesses told Reuters.
One witness said members of the presidential guard had taken control of a bridge and were apparently firing into the air, and another witness said he saw presidential guards around the state broadcasting building and had heard several shots.
Soldiers toppled President Amadou Toumani Toure on March 22, forcing him to flee the country.
