Yacimovich calls for freeze of Gush Dan bus plan

MK Shelly Yacimovich (Labor) called for Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz to freeze a new plan for buses in Gush Dan on Wednesday, saying that the public was not properly prepared for the changes.
"Public transportation is an essential service for hundreds of thousands of citizens," Yacimovich, a Labor leadership candidate, explained. "The way the planned reformed was managed is deficient and hurts the public."
"The transportation ministry is busy with building highways and intersections all around the country, while hundreds of thousands of bus-riders wait endlessly in the sun each day for buses," she added.
The plan, which comes goes into effect on Friday, cancels, replaces and changes public transportation lines in the Tel Aviv area.
