Yechimovich calls on Mofaz to quit gov't, push for election

Opposition leader Shelly Yechimovich called on Vice Premier Shaul Mofaz to quit the government coalition on Tuesday and join her efforts to dissolve the Knesset and initiate early elections.
Yechimovich's comments came as Mofaz was set to convene Kadima to discuss whether or  not the faction should leave the coalition over the government's failure to implement a universal service law.
"There is an unpleasant odor of deals, shady business and attempts to survive coming from the Kadima-Netanyahu coalition," Yechimovich stated. "We should do now what should have been done two months ago and go to elections to give the public the right to determine cleanly the issues touching on the future of the State of Israel," she added.
