Yechimovich defends Peres: Netanyahu should learn from him

Labor leader Shelly Yechimovich defended President Shimon Peres on Thursday for saying that Israel should not attempt to attack Iran alone.
"The presidency is the most important and respected post in the country, and the president himself is appreciated and respected by the entire public," Yechimovich said. "The president expressed deep concern over the Israel's security apparatus, and [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu should carefully listen to the him and internalize his comments."
Sources close to Netanyahu had slammed Peres for his statements, saying that he had forgotten the president's largely symbolic role.
