Yesh Din lawyer: Settlements are stumbling block for peace

Settlements are the stumbling block for peace, Yesh Din attorney Michael Sfard stated Friday.

Speaking on a panel at the Peace Now conference, Sfard said that "the Israeli government's attitude towards the court helps the public understand that there is a price to be paid for settlements." Sfard added that the ongoing settlement enterprise in the West Bank is the "best card for the left wing."

Also during the panel discussion, attorney Talia Sasson - who compiled a government report on Migron in 2005 - said that "there is no peace because of Israel's territorial dreams in the West Bank."
