Yeshiva head: Media, IDF sullying the settler movement

The Israeli media and the IDF are on a smear campaign against settlers in light of the recent series of so-called "price-tag" attacks and the storming of an IDF base in the West Bank, a yeshiva head said Thursday Friday according to Israel Radio.

According to an op-ed the Rabbi Eliezer Melamed wrote in the Besheva newspaper, the government and especially Defense Minister Ehud Barak are activity "deceptively" and "divisively" against the settler movement.

The media has cast a bad light on settlers following the spate of violent and vandalism incidents in an attempt to sully the settlement movement, the rabbi wrote.
