Yigal Amir will be moved out of solitary confinement

The Prison Service will not keep Yigal Amir in solitary confinement when the order for his isolation comes to an end in the coming days, the service said Wednesday. Amir, who assassinated the late prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, has been held in isolation for 17 years, an order that courts have regularly renewed.
The Prison Service said that Amir will not be moved into an open prison ward but would rather be held in a cell with two to four other inmates.
