Yitzhar rabbi detained for book on laws of killing gentiles

Large police forces detained Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira in his home early Monday morning for questioning. Shapira, head of Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in the Jewish settlement of Yitzhar, had been arrested in January on suspicion of direct involvement in the arson attack on a mosque in the West Bank, but released after questioning.
Israel Radio reported that Shapira was detained due to a book he published, “Torat Hamelech,” which deals primarily with the halachic adjudications of killing non-Jews.
