Solel Solar Systems Ltd. said Tuesday it signed a new contract with FPL Energy, LLC, for the supply of thousands of its advanced solar thermal receivers systems. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. FPL Energy is one of the leading providers of electricity in the US, and is the co-owner and operator of seven solar power plants in California's Mojave Desert. Eight months ago, Beit Shemesh-based Solel announced an agreement to upgrade FPL Energy's solar plants with 48,000 new thermal solar systems. The new agreement will enable FPL Energy to increase its output of clean electricity and reduce the costs associated with operating its solar plants.
