Demand for hi-tech workers falls

A drop of 8.6 percent was noted in the demand for hi-tech workers in the month of July compared to the previous month, the Manpower company reported on Tuesday. The decline included demand for all professional groups in the hi-tech industry, excluding the demand for the software engineers group, which rose by 1.1% and has remained relatively stable over the past 11 months. The drops in demand for all the other groups in July ranged between 6.4% for hardware engineers to 17.3% for team and project managers. Overall demand for hi-tech workers had dropped by 5.3% in July 2006.
