The Office of the Chief Scientist approved a NIS 62.8 million budget for joint research projects between academic and industry professional over the next five years, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor said Sunday. The Chief Scientist will cover NIS 44.2m. of the budget, the ministry said. Working mainly in the pharmaceutical industry, the "Magnet" program has initiated projects with some of Israel's largest bio-pharmaceutical companies including Teva, D-Pharm and Perrigo in the past few years.
