Gemini, Redpoint invest in adap.tv

Adap.tv, based in San Mateo, California, analyzes on-line videos in real time, and places relevant text advertisements under the video.

Israeli investment funds Gemini Israel Funds and Redpoint Ventures have invested $10 million in adap.tv, an Internet advertising startup headed by Israeli Amir Ashkenazi, who has helped launch a number of Internet startups including Shopping.com, which was sold to Ebay in 2005. Adap.tv, based in San Mateo, California, analyzes on-line videos in real time, and places relevant text advertisements under the video. Their technology has already been adapted by Metacafe, a major Tel Aviv-based video sharing site, and will show advertising from Amazon.com and Shopping.com.
