Most of the defendants accused of operating a cartel in frozen vegetables during the 1990s admitted their involvement in a court hearing Monday. In February of 2005, five companies and their management were informed by the Antitrust Authority that indictments would be initiated, which culminated in proceedings at the Jerusalem District Court. The Court, presided over by Judge Solberg, has already fined Vita (Fruits of the Galil) NIS 400,000 and Milotal NIS 325,000. The latest admissions will result in further punishments being meted out. Only one defendant was still denying involvement in the cartel.
