The demand for workers in the business sector increased by 42 percent in 2006 over 2005 levels with over 40,000 open positions on a daily average, according to an employers' survey carried our the by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor. The survey of 2,500 employers found that the most prominent rise in demand for workers was in the technology fields with demand for computer engineers leaping by 374%, amounting to an increase of 1,403 available positions, while the number of available positions for computer technicians rose by 1,000.
