Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Chief of General Staff of the IDF Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz will be the guests of honor at the annual general meeting of the Israel Management Center that will take place at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds and Conference Center from 8:30 a.m. Sharon will speak at the opening session, as will IMC Chairman Benny Gaon, IMC Director-General Itzhak Chen, Histradut Chairman Amir Peretz, Bank Hapoalim Board of Directors chairman Shlomo Nehama and Israel Makov, president and CEO of Teva. Speakers at other sessions will include senior managers of Israel's leading companies. The Hebrew University's Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace, Al-Quds University and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation have joined forces to sponsor a symposium on Restrictions on Movement: Balancing Legitimate Security Concerns with Palestinian Welfare. The symposium will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame Center, 3 Hatzanhanim Street, Jerusalem, opposite the New Gate to the Old City.
Root and Branch presents two lectures at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The first, under the title 'Ark,' will be delivered by Aryeh Gallin. The second, 'Looking at History Through a Jewish Lens: One More Time' will be presented by Reuven Kossover. The Holon Academic Institute of Technology will host the Second Holon Workshop on Mathematics of Image and Signal Processing from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Conference Hall, Building 3 on the HOC campus, 52 Golumb Street, Holon. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation will launch a series of events related to the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The events, under the heading of 'Between War and Peace,' will take place between September 30 and October 2 at the Konrad Adenauer Conference Center in Mishkenot Sha'ananim, Jerusalem, and will begin with a photo exhibition depicting a variety of war- and peace-related images. Prominent figures from Germany and Israel will subsequently share memories and impressions of war and peace.
