Annan says international force for Lebanon must be much bigger than current U.N. force

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) _ U.N Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Monday any international stabilization force that is put together for Lebanon must be "considerably" larger and better armed than the U.N.'s current force of about 2,000 soldiers. Annan told reporters details of the proposed force's size and rules of engagement are yet to be worked out, but he added, "I would expect a force that is considerably larger than the 2,000-strong force that is there."
