The Labor Party will not join Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's coalition, party leader Shelly Yacimovich said on Tuesday evening during a visit in the Druse town of Julis, according to Israel Radio.If the prime minister works to advance the peace process, Labor will support him from the opposition, she explained.RELATED:Netanyahu: ‘PA reneged on central Oslo tenet’Peres continues to have faith in Oslo AccordsEini, Steinitz meeting ends without resolving differencesYacimovich's comments came in advance of a report that a UN Security Council sub-committee is expected to deliver Friday regarding a request by the Palestinians to be recognized as a fully fledged UN member.The party leader also mentioned that she believes it is necessary to expand the budget in order to fund infrastructure and the creation of jobs.
In an interview with Israel Radio on Friday, Yacimovich said there is no strike more justified than Monday's general strike concerning the employment status of contract workers.According to Yacimovich, the issue of the contract workers is a moral one that is growing progressively more despicable. She added that the state is the primary criminal in this phenomenon; it is blind to the contract workers' existence, although they make up a third of it's employees.Tovah Lazaroff contributed to this report.
