My history (100 words max): I was born in Azerbaijan and grew up in the USA. I deeply appreciate all the opportunities and doors this country has opened for me. Aliyah is always in the back of my mind though...
Family history (100 words max): My mother was born in Russia and my father in Azerbaijan
My connection with Israel: When I was 6 years old and my family was leaving the former USSR, I begged my parents to take us to Israel. I've always felt the connection, but have only recently found the tools to express that connection in a productive manner - going to Israel, studying in Israel, rallying for Israel. To me, the modern state of Israel is nothing short of a miracle
What I would take with me to a deserted island: diary and a pen, water, a mirror (because I read in some survival book that that's what you should use to reflect the sun and call attention to yourself if on a deserted island), a megaphone, photos to remind me of the good times
If I could have dinner with any person in the world it would be: hmm...too many to choose from
What angers you: anti-semitism, animal abuse, Jews who are apathetic towards Israel

My life five years from now: hopefully happy and fulfilled
You may not like it but I have something controversial to say: I cannot help but feel haunted by painful Jewish history in certain countries. I was recently in Austria and despite the beauty, I couldn't stop thinking about that country's participation in the Third Reich. 60 years is only a blink in the eye of history...
Happiness: 1-10 (10 being the happiest) 7
