TRY ONE YOURSELF>>> Age: 30 Residence: Ramallah Married? With children? Neither Occupation: Don't like it much Education: Middle East studies / International Affairs Pets: I occasionally feed street cats Religious affiliation / observance:String Theory Last person / party I voted for: Liberal Democrats (Belgian -center right) Next person / party I will vote for: Liberal Democrats My history (100 words max): Born in a small village called Neerglabbeek. I invented the internet at age 19. Oh no wait, that was Al Gore. I've always taken things apart rather than connected them. Um, I've come to rather like garlic. Seriously, I put that stuff on everything. Family history (100 words max): My great-grandfather, a patrician from Antwerp, owned a shipping-inn on the Antwerp-Liege canal. A grandfather from my mother's side was a maquis fighter against the German occupation. Dislike for occupation runs in the family, it would seem. My connection with Israel: I've lived and worked in Ramallah for the past three years. I have some Israeli friends What I would take with me to a deserted island: An intelligent woman. I actually have my sights on one, but don't tell her. Wait a minute, is this island proverbial in any way? Published and celebrated author? On the doldrums? Refugee from rising seawater in Bern? You may not like it but I have something controversial to say: I'd put in "Israel needs to end the occupation" but that's only controversial among bigots. A prediction then,.. nothing more controversial than the future; Both Israel and Palestine will be part of the EU and NATO by 2017. Happiness: 1-10 (10 being the happiest) 8 Click here to leave a message for Tom TRY ONE YOURSELF>>> Meet all 'About Me' participants
