Talkback #: 31 + 32 Talkbacker: Sharon, USA Text: Excessive sexualization of women is the same coin, different sides, whether it comes from Haredi or secularists. Secular society treats women as if they should all be young, half naked, and gyrating sexual machines. Haredi society treats women as if they are so sexually stimulating they must be bagged and kept out of sight - while doing all the work, of course. In either case, it is degrading and disgusting, and women should not accept it. Thank Hashem that the more "liberal" strands of Judaism have mature males who are able to deal with women as more than sexual vessels, and treat us with respect, dignity, and as equal human beings before Hashem. It is sad that Haredi are so hyper-sexualized that they cannot interact with a woman's brain in mixed society, but see only a body. What do you think? The ball is in your court now.
