ADL condemns attack on Egyptian church

The ADL on Monday formally denounced the deadly bombing of an Egyptian Coptic Christian church which claimed the lives of 21 people and injured close to 100 others. The organization called the attack a "heinous act of terrorism," and in a letter to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak welcomed all efforts to improve security at Coptic churches.
The ADL also went on to denounce conspiracy theories which allege Israeli involvement in the attack. Robert G. Sugarman, ADL national chair, and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL national director, in a formal statement said: "Conspiracy theories blaming Israel and Jews for violence, scandals, and crisis in Egypt are all too common and must be repudiated."
