Barak discusses terror, Iran with Chinese military chief

Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with Chinese Chief of General-Staff General Chen Bingde in Beijing on Sunday for over an hour. The two discussed Israel and China's mutual interests and the bilateral ties between the IDF and the Chinese military, a Defense Ministry press release said.
In the meeting, Barak explained the security challenges in the Middle East and recent changes in the region. Additionally, Barak discussed with the Chinese top general the need to prevent Iran from arming itself with nuclear weapons. The two also discussed cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism.
Chen, describing the discussions, said his visit with Barak was greatly important for China as well as for relations between Israel and China.
